Letter from our VP Recruitment Operations

Hi gorgeous! 

I first want to say congratulations on becoming an Osprey and welcome to The University of North Florida! I am so excited that you have made the decision to go through the Panhellenic Recruitment process this year. It really is going to be a blast! Joining this community has been the best decision I have made in my undergraduate career and I can’t wait to see what it has in store for you. When I went through recruitment just a few years ago, I never thought I would be where I am today, writing this letter to you. I never thought I would have such an amazing group of women to rely on and push me to be my best self. Without these amazing women, I wouldn’t be the confident leader, friend, sister, and student that I am today. 

My job is to plan and run Primary Recruitment here at UNF. I can assure you with my whole heart that we participate in a Values-Based Recruitment. During recruitment, you will meet all of our six chapters here at the university: Alpha Chi Omega, Alpha Delta Pi, Alpha Phi, Delta Gamma, Kappa Delta, and Zeta Tau Alpha. You will have conversations with the amazing women of this community and they will teach you of their chapter’s unique values. You will rank the chapters on how those values connect to you, and they will invite women back who they see those values within. Our recruitment is based on mutual selection.

I know these past few years have been challenging and nothing that you could have ever expected. However, I am here to tell you that joining our Panhellenic Community is an experience like no other. Throughout recruitment you will find things out about yourself that you never knew before. You will meet other potential new members and find things in common with people who may become your best friends, your sisters, or even your big! Throughout this process, I want you to keep an open mind and ask the chapter members tough questions. This is for you and about you, so get the most you can out of it. The chapter you join in the end will be waiting to share their lifelong sisterhood with you.

This week will be one of the most memorable experiences of your life if you let it. So have fun, get to know other women, and make the most out of this experience. I can’t imagine what my life would be like if I didn’t push myself to go through recruitment, just like you are now.
